NAPMA Achieves 15th Consecutive Month of Membership Growth
NAPMA President Rob Colasanti recently announced that NAPMA has experienced a net positive increase in enrollments for 15 consecutive months. This includes as many as 76 new members during one month.

“We very much think of NAPMA as the equivalent of a large martial arts school,” commented Colasanti. “Just like our members, we work hard for every enrollment and to improve our retention rate. Our success is both a symbol of NAPMA’s strength and an example for our members that we practice what we preach."
Colasanti concluded by saying that he and the NAPMA staff expect the net positive enrollment trend to continue, indefinitely. New programs and member benefits are in development that will reinforce and expand NAPMA’s leadership role.
Preparations Continue for the 2006 Martial Arts SuperShow
The NAPMA staff has increased the pace of preparation for the 2006 Martial Arts SuperShow. All NAPMA members are encouraged to attend and show your support for the association that supports you, your industry and the future you envision.
NAPMA’s presence will be evident throughout this year’s event at the MGM Grand, July 6-8, in Las Vegas. Visit the NAPMA booth #217 and talk with Rob Colasanti, NAPMA president; Melissa Gouley, NAPMA membership director; and Bill Workman and James McAdams, NAPMA member representatives.

All attendees will receive a tote bag when they first enter the show. It will include the NAPMA Martial Arts SuperShow package, with the updated Membership Benefit Guide and the 2006-2007 NAPMA Instructor Catalog.

Zig Ziglar’s I CAN Program Now Available From NAPMA
NAPMA is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Ziglar Training Systems, Inc. and The Alexander Resource Group to make Mr. Ziglar’s I CAN Program available to members and non-members. This is an outstanding character development curriculum for your students, and an “added value” that makes any school unique in the eyes of parents and the community.
The I CAN Program has been implemented by academic school systems throughout the country, and with measurable success. It teaches lessons in the ABC’s of life: Attitude, Behavior and Character. Those are the kinds of lessons that will help you enroll more students easier, and improve retention. All of the contents easily integrate with any martial arts school’s programs.

The I CAN Beginner Curriculum includes more than 350 pages of innovative ideas and positive motivational themes for grades K through 5. The I CAN Achiever Curriculum is a thorough, 500-page presentation of self-development, discipline and responsibility-learning materials for grades 6 through 12.

Members and non-members may purchase either manual for $299, or both for only $499. Call your NAPMA representative for ordering details at 1-800-973-6734.
An Important Reminder
Register today for “Hitting Hard in the Martial Arts Business,” NAPMA President Rob Colasanti’s free, 90-minute tele-seminar, Thursday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m., EDT. All martial arts instructors, school owners and their staffs are welcome. No NAPMA membership required.

Mr. Colasanti purposely developed his business seminar for small to moderate-sized schools with 250 students or fewer. Owners of larger schools will also discover new ideas and information during Mr. Colasanti’s seminar. He wants to help specifically, however, those schools, having difficulty with enrollments and maintaining a good retention rate.

Continuing Education
Publicity…Attract More Attention to Your School

Publicity, or public relations, should be an important component of your school’s comprehensive marketing program. In most cases, publicity is “free,” and when prepared and distributed wisely can do as much for your school’s image as any paid advertising.

This Strategic Report concentrates on two publicity methods that will help you the most: First, how to prepare and distribute a press release; and, second, how to become a recognized industry “expert” and a source of information and interviews for local media.

    NAPMA SQUARED

The Future You Envision Begins With NAPMA Squared

Today, you are here.

Tomorrow, you expect to be ahead of where you are today.

Many tomorrows from today, you expect to be living a future of professional success and personal prosperity—however you define those goals.

A NAPMA Squared membership is your most cost-effective investment in that future you expect to live. Every bi-monthly package from Stephen Oliver, developer of NAPMA Squared, will take you one step farther on the path that leads to the future you envision.

During the last year, NAPMA Squared members have received an outstanding continuing education in many of the most critical topics to the success of their schools and their personal lives.

In Managing Your Life and Your Staff, Joe Corley emphasized, “Better life management requires not only a business mission statement, but also a personal mission statement and a family mission statement. Life management begins with integrating those three mission statements, so your roles, goals, tasks and accomplishments support all of your missions in life, reducing or even eliminating conflicts, disruptions and inefficient use of time.”

In Maximizing Your Income, Stephen Oliver explained, “Often, your first consideration when determining your tuition structure is the psychological effect on your staff, especially your program director. The smart strategy is to decide to raise your tuition; and then you conduct 20 or 30 enrollments at the new price. You then inform your program director of the tuition increase. Many program directors will balk, unable to believe that prospects will pay more. That is when you show him the enrollments you closed at the higher price point and review how you presented it, how prospects responded and how you closed them. Suddenly, your program director is able to see the wisdom of your tuition increase.”

In Create Wealth and Keep It, the next NAPMA Squared package, Terry Bryant states, “The primary strategy for protecting your school and personal assets is to have many layers and shields between you, personally, and your school, as a business entity. For example, create one corporation to lease your school space. That corporation then leases the space to the school’s business entity: another corporation or maybe a franchise. The first corporation simply exists as a go-between or shield and does no other business.”

These important school- and wealth-growing tips are just a fraction of the continuing education you’ll receive in every NAPMA Squared package.

It’s time to move boldly toward the future you envision; it’s time to join NAPMA Squared!
